Greater Rayalaseema demands Capital: Trouble brewing up for Jagan on home turf

Hyderabad: Is trouble brewing up for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in his home turf over his three capitals decision? The demand for Greater Rayalaseema is back, Going by the beginning of resentment of travelling hundreds of kilometres to Administrative capital designate Vishakapatnam from far off Rayalaseema the YSR Congress chief is all likely to face rough.

'Rayalaseema top guns including former Ministers, Members of Parliament, High Court advocates on Wednesday demanded Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy declare Kurnool or any other city as the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

The letter has been signed by former Home Minister M V Mysura Reddy, former MP Gangula Pratap Reddy, Ex MLA K Madan Mohan Reddy, former DGP V Dinesh Reddy, RTI Commissioner Dr Imtiaz Ahamed, Highcourt advocates C Siva Prasada Rao, D Sudhakar Reddy and several others.

In the letter, they said," People of Greater Rayalaseema has supported YS Jagan Mohan Reddy by giving a maximum number of Assembly seats in 2014 and 2019. We are eagerly waiting since you came to the power that you will do justice to Rayalaseema. When High Court was shifted out of Hyderabad we have asked for setting it up in Rayalaseema. GN Rao committee has been appointed or decentralisation of development and governance. The committee has given its report according to the Chief Minister's wish,"

They further added,"The committee said Kurnool would host the High Court with HC benches at Vizag and Amaravati. We are supporting the decentralisation of power. We demand justice to Rayalaseema. People of Rayalseema sacrificed Kurnool as the state capital for unity. Capital should come up in Greater Rayalaseema,". Meanwhile Amaravati area has been witnessing huge protests following Jagan's three capital decision. Farmers and women took to the streets. In Vishakapatnam people started supporting Jagan's government for setting up administrative capital.
