Guntur girl Asha Dalavai scales El Bruce
By Anurag Mallick Published on 14 Aug 2019 12:29 PM GMTAsha Dalavai, a female mountaineer from the Srinivas Rao Thota district in Guntur has scaled Europe’s largest mountain ‘El Bruce,’ which is located between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea and stands at 5,642 mt high.
Asha in the past has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) in Tanzania. She began climbing Kilimanjaro on July 20 and completed the expedition on July 23. On achieving this magnificent feat, Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan congratulate Asha on Twitter. He tweeted, “My wholehearted Congratulations! to Ms Asha Dalavai, for her achievement in Mount Kilimanjaro expedition. Your success will truly inspire women, men, girls and boys of our Motherland alike (sic).”

Asha completed her graduation from TJPS College in Guntur in 2007 and holds a bachelor’s degree in B.Sc. She also joined NCC where she showed interest in mountain climbing. During her training period at the NCC, Asha underwent training at the Himalaya institute of mountaineers for 28 days.
On her further plans, Asha said, “My dream is to climb the seven biggest mountains of all the seven continents in the world.”
