Harassed by husband, techie's wife commits suicide in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old newlywed bride committed suicide after she was allegedly harassed by her husband at Gachibowli in the IT corridor of Hyderabad.
Identified as Sesha Santosha Kumari, she allegedly jumped from the terrace of a multi-storied building late on Wednesday.
Police have registered a case and detained her husband for questioning.
According to Gachibowli police, the victim and her husband Raghavendra Rao of Khammam district got married on February 15. The couple was living in a rented flat at Orchid apartment at Kondapur. Rao is working in a tech firm and the victim was a homemaker.
Since the lockdown, Rao was working from home. Sources said he started harassing his wife over petty issues. On Tuesday, he picked up an argument with her wife. Upset with her husband, she jumped from the terrace of the building and ended her life on Wednesday.
Based on a complaint from her parents, police registered a case under section 304-B of IPC and started the investigation. Raghavendra Rao was also detained for questioning.
