Hayathnagar kidnapper arrested
By Newsmeter Network Published on 4 Aug 2019 4:35 PM GMTA pseudo CBI officer, Income Tax officer, Vigilance office, Enforcement officer, Sub-collector, employee in Secretariat, close relative of senior-level government officials and in many other roles, Ithem Ravi Shekar alias Ravi(48) who kidnapped a pharmacy student at Hayathnagar on July 23, was a notorious criminal and was involved in 56 cases since 2001, including the kidnapping case of Hayathnagar. Ravi had also sexually assaulted the pharmacy student multiple times during the one week period when she was with him.
Rachakonda police arrested him on Saturday and recovered from him the car used for kidnapping, four mobile phones, sim cards and cash.
After kidnapping the woman, he took her to Kadapa saying they need to get a signature from a forest official for her job. During her one week stay, he took her to Nellore, Prakasam and Kurnool districts, where they stayed in the car only. He drove her to secluded locations and forest areas, where he sexually assaulted her in the car. As she was alone and not allowed to step out of the vehicle, she had no option, but to bear with him.
As she started questioning him about her job and about her parents, he dropped her in a busy market area at Guntur district and sped away. From there the victim took a bus to Hyderabad.
Inquiries revealed that Ravi was involved in extortion, attention diversion and cheating offenses. Everywhere he went, he would promise the people he met, of getting bank loans, government jobs, government benefits and collected money from them. He was arrested on several occasions in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and escaped from police custody twice when he was being shifted from court to jail at Visakhapatnam.
