Heatwave conditions prevail over Telangana

Hyderabad: Temperature continues to rise for the second consecutive day in Telangana, due to the heatwave condition in the state. According to forecast by Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) Bhadradri Kothagudem district recorded the maximum temperature of 46.3 degree celcius, while Hyderabad recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius.

Apart from that Maximum temperatures of above 45 degree celcius were recorded at over Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Jayashankar, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Suryapet and Nalgonda districts during last 24hours, said the forecast.

The forecast also stated that heatwave like conditions are expected to continue at a few places for next three days, mainly over Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Jayashankar, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda and Suryapet Districts.

The Hyderabad center of Indian Meterogical Department (IMD) has forecasted that after May 26 there is a possibility of Thunderstorm activities over isolated places of Telangana.

Further in its forecast it said the state is experiencing temperature which is 2 to 3 degree celcius above normal.

According to a statement given by IMD Director-in-Charge K Naga Ratna, “There is very less moisture over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh due to cyclone Amphan and also due to north-westerly winds which is leading to the heatwave.”

Heatwave like conditions are also prevalent over Andhra Pradesh mostly in Nort Coatal districts and Yanam region. According to IMD Cuddapah recorded a maximum temperature of 42.4 degree celcius.
