Hero’s send-off to Bittu, the dog

Bittu, a four-year-old Belgian Malinois, passed away on Sunday after an illness.
The canine has been working with Andhra Pradesh Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) in Tirupati for the last three years.
Born on January 13, 2016, Bittu had undergone eight-month special training at Integrated Intelligence Training Academy (IITA), Moinabad. The canine formally joined the Force on February 21, 2017.
During its three years of service, Bittu had unearthed hundreds of red sander dumps in the forest. The sniffer dog was instrumental in helping Task Force to nab smugglers hiding in the forests. The canine was a recipient of several awards for meritorious services.
Task Force In-charge P Ravi Shankar paid floral tributes to the sniffer dog. Floral wreaths were laid on the remains of the canine The last rites were performed by the handler at the RSASTF premises in Tirupati on Sunday.
Tirupati Urban SP Avula Ramesh Reddy and others also paid respects.
