Hrithik Roshan teams up with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his next project

Hyderabad: Every time Sanjay Leela Bhansali announces a project, there is always a controversy tied to it. After Padmaavat, Sanjay took some time to announce his next project. It is rumoured that he has roped in Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan for his upcoming film. But the Dabaang star went against his initial decision and quit within the first few days of his casting.

Salman chose to walk out of the project because of creative differences he had with the director before the film started producing. This project was shelved as Salman quit, but Sanjay retained Alia Bhatt and revealed that he would be making Gangubai Kathiyawadi, a film which will have her in the role of Gangubai Kothewali.

The film is a biopic based on the life of Gangubai Kothewali, also known as the Madam Of Kamathipura, an infamous woman from Mumbai history. Forced into prostitution at an early age, Gangubai became an influential pimp in the city, with notorious criminals serving as her clients.

It is rumoured that Sanjay had approached Ranbir Kapoor for the role of don Haji Mastan, but he rejected the offer. Sanjay had pinned his hopes on Ranbir, confident that he would accept the part. But with Ranbir disappointing him, Sanjay chose to approach Hrithik Roshan instead.

Sources have confirmed that Hrithik has given the nod, and that he is happy to be teaming up with the famous director. However, the makers haven't given us any offical confirmation. It is rumoured that the film would begin production in December.

Hrithik is currently basking in the success of his recent two flicks, Super 30 and War, and hopefully, will bag a hat trick with Gangubai Kathiyawadi. Watch this space for more updates about the film.
