Hyderabad: Chaitanyapuri police Inspector S Janaki Reddy under Rachakonda police commissionerate was caught on camera misbehaving with some people at the Gaddiannaram fruit market.

The incident occurred last night when an altercation broke out in the fruit market. Police teams rushed to the market and started sending the vehicles back leading to a chaotic situation.

A few local leaders came to the market in support of the traders. As they arrived, an argument took place between them and the police. The videos which are being circulated show the Inspector pushing one of the leaders.

When the leaders flaunted their political affiliation, the cop is heard saying, “I am the Inspector” and started abusing. He is also seen holding a person by his collar and pushing him away.

According to sources, the market was completely closed for business after it was shifted to the newly inaugurated fruit market at Koheda on the city outskirts. But after the sheds collapsed in the new facility, the business was shifted to the Gaddiannaram market.

However, market authorities did not take any measures to ensure proper sanitation, physical distance, and wearing masks. It was found that the market committee and the authorities concerned did not act.

Police took up the issue with them, but the situation remained the same. Police even served notices to the market committee and other authorities. Cases were also registered against the traders but to no avail.
