Hyderabad techie arrested for misleading actor Vijay Devarakonda

Hyderabad: Bengaluru Police have arrested a Hyderabad based techie for sending a fake invite to Tollywood actor Vijay Devarakonda by impersonating as Infosys Foundation Chairperson Ms Sudha Murthy.

According to the police, the accused, L Sai Krishna, working for a city-based software firm, had allegedly sent a letter to the actor inviting him to be a brand ambassador for a new mobile application- called 'Officer Nearby’. A complaint was lodged in Bengaluru.

Based on technical evidence gathered out of the investigation, Bengaluru police identified Sai Krishna and traced him in Hyderabad. A police team arrested the march on March 15th.

Sai Krishna had impersonated Sudha Murthy and sent an invite to Vijay Devarakonda in February 2020. When the Infosys Foundation chairperson Sudha Murthy learned of the matter, she approached the Cybercrime wing of Bengaluru police.

Following an investigation, police nabbed L Sai Krishna. He is being questioned in Bengaluru and likely to be produced before the local court in Bengaluru.
