Three Infosys employees from Hyderabad arrested in Bengaluru in a bribe case

Hyderabad: Three Infosys employees, belonging to Hyderabad, working in Bengaluru, were arrested by Electronic City police on March 3 for accepting bribes from individuals filing IT returns forms in order to process their applications quickly.

Police booked cases against Kalyan, Prakash and Devishwar Reddy based on a complaint by Income Tax officials. IT giant Infosys terminated their services on Monday. As part of the case, the three employees were attached to the Centralised processing centre of the Income Tax department.

Around Rs 2.37 lakh was recovered from them. They charged four per cent of the refund money as commission. The police were able to catch them as one individual refused to pay commission. He recorded the conversation and approached Income Tax officials, who, in turn, went to the police after an internal enquiry.

Police have booked cases of cheating and criminal breach of trust against them. It is suspected that the three might have cheated people to the tune of Rs 15 lakh.
