Hyderabad court sentences 40-year-old to imprisonment for sexually assaulting minor girl

Hyderabad: A local court in LB Nagar, Ranga Reddy sentenced a 40-year-old labourer to 3 and half years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl. In a judgement issued on December 17, the court also slapped the accused Bodas Venkatesh a fine of Rs 1,000. The verdict is a result of a two-year-long investigation.

The facts of the case are that on July 18, 2017, the victim, who resides with her father and brother at Hayatnagar, went to the accused’s house to watch TV. Bodas Venkatesh took advantage of this situation and sexually assaulted the nine-year-old victim. The accused fled away from the home when she began to cry and shout.

The girl, who lost her mother at a young age, was later admitted to Nirvana Home for needy children. There, she revealed the incident to Mareedu Krishna Priya, the founder of Nirvana Home. The latter, then registered a complaint with the LB Nagar police station, on July 3.
