Hyderabad man gives wife 'talaq' for crooked teeth

Hyderabad:In a case of triple talaq, a man from Hyderabad gave talaq to his newlywed wife for having an overbite (uneven) teeth.

Mohd. Mustafa, an auto driver from Rajendranagar and the victim, had married in June 2019. A month into the marriage, Mustafa then began harassing the victim. He told the victim that he did not like her due to her teeth.

Unable to bear the torture, the victim returned to her parent’s home a week ago. Two days ago, Mustafa came to the girl’s parent’s house and said the words triple talaq and went away. Not knowing what to do, the woman approached the police and complained. Kushaiguda police registered a case and have initiated a probe.

The victim told police that though he was harassing her from day one and had cheated them, she tried to adjust because they were already married.

Before marriage, Mustafa had told the victim’s family that he was running a cloth store in the Old City of Hyderabad. Later the victim’s family found that he was an auto driver and questioned him.

Speaking to media, Kushaiguda Inspector Chandrashekar said a case is registered under relevant sections, and a probe is on.
