Her maternal uncle Varadaraj Sudesh Umesh also lived in the neighborhood and was a constable at the Ramgopalpet police station.
A few days ago, he came to the girlās home for some work and noticed that she was alone at home. Taking advantage of the situation, he forced himself on her. When she raised an alarm, he left the place but not before warning her of dire consequences if she told anyone of the incident.
The girl initially kept quiet but later confided in her parents who reported the issue to the police on Thursday. The Bowenpally police registered a case and arrested Umesh.
