Hyderabadi sentenced 7-years imprisonment for sexually abusing minor stepdaughter
By Newsmeter Network Published on 18 Dec 2019 12:44 PM GMTHyderabad: A special court in Hyderabad that deals with POCSO cases sentenced a man to seven years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting his three-and-a-half-year old stepdaughter.
Passing the judgement on Wednesday, the court also slapped the accused, Hanumanth Dushhata a fine of Rs 1,000.
The facts of the case are, Ritu Chamkal, a native of Chattisgarh, lost her husband after six years of marriage. The couple was blessed with two children. The accused, Hanumanth approached Ritu gained her confidence and later married her. Recently, about a year back, the couple came to Hyderabad.
According to a complaint lodged by Ritu at Nampally police station, the accused used to beat her and her children from first marriage mercilessly. He also sexually molested her three-and-a-half-year old daughter. Whenever she objected, he used to beat her and her children.
On March 14, Ritu filed a complaint against the accused at Nampally station. Since March this year, the victim and family are under the shelter of Lotus Safe Home, Bowenpally. The verdict comes after nine months of investigation.
