Hyderabad traffic police seize 2,480 vehicles for violating lockdown

Hyderabad: City traffic police on Tuesday seized 2,480 vehicles for violating lockdown in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad Traffic Police have launched a special drive to discourage the citizens from loitering and prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Police have deployed cops at 73 check posts across the city. Cops seized 2480 vehicles including 1,058 two-wheelers, 948 three-wheelers, 429 four-wheelers and 45 other vehicles on Tuesday..

Hyderabad traffic police have requested the citizens to stay home and not venture out unless there is an emergency. Emergency services and essential services will only be allowed during the morning hours.

Cases will be registered against the violators under section 188 of IPC, Hyderabad Traffic Police said.

Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic Anil Kumar requested the citizens to follow the guidelines issued by the Telangana government and cooperate with authorities in order to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. “No movement of the vehicle will be allowed from 7 pm up to 6 am”, he said
