Telangana Model can be inspiration for entire country: Kavitha

BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha attended the celebration of the Farmer’s Day programme in Sadashivnagar’s Padmajiwada.

On the occasion, Kavitha said CM KCR’s efforts have turned agriculture into a festival in Telangana, eliminating concerns related to fake seeds and electricity shortages. She urged Congress leaders to pay attention to the state’s pro-farmer schemes as the Telangana Model can serve as an inspiration for the entire country.

Speaking about the Telangana Model, Kavitha explained, “It involves lifting river water up to an elevation of 610 meters to irrigate fields. Over the course of five years, 6.5 million farmers will receive financial assistance amounting to Rs. 65,000 crores (650 billion rupees). The Telangana Model also includes comprehensive farmer insurance coverage and ensuring water availability for every acre of cultivated land.”

She cited various achievements, such as the improved ranking of Telangana in paddy production, rising from 15th to second place. Kavitha further said, “Telangana will surpass Punjab and become the leading state in paddy cultivation.”

Acknowledging the importance of electricity for farming, Kavitha said, “Ten new sub-stations, worth Rs. 181 crores, have been established in Ellareddy constituency, alongside the provision of free electricity valued at Rs. 119 crores for Sadashivnagar mandal.” Kavitha emphasised that farmer insurance was provided to 119 families in the constituency, ensuring financial security in the face of adversity.
