Hyderabad: The construction of the 1.36-km long and 12-m wide flyover at Owaisi-Midhani junction in the Old City in Hyderabad has been completed and is now ready for inauguration.

The flyover, completed at a cost of around Rs. 80 crores, is expected to reduce traffic in the area and thereby save travel time. It will facilitate traffic coming from Midhani junction and going towards Owaisi Hospital junction.

The flyover starts near the Midhani junction and ends around 500 metres away from the Owaisi Hospital junction, easing traffic at these two congested junctions.

Many people working in DRDO, DRDL, ASL, and other Central government offices use the Chandrayangutta-Karmanghat road via Owaisi Hospital junction. This flyover will ensure a better commute for scores of people.

It will also connect the eastern part of the city and the Old City.

Besides saving travel time, the flyover is also expected to save vehicle operation costs like fuel and reduce pollution and noise levels due to reduction in waiting or travel time at the junction.
