Hyderabad: Two young horse trainers of Telangana Horse Riding Academy in Kismatpur lost their lives on Wednesday while trying to save a horse from drowning in the Musi River.

According to the Rajender Nagar police, a nine-year-old horse named Hercules was grazing at the river bank when it suddenly fell into the water. Ashu Singh (19), a trainer at the academy, tried to save the animal but also ended up in the river. Mohd. Saif (18), the nephew of Mohammed Azam, owner of the academy, jumped into the water to help Ashu but also drowned. Unfortunately, neither of them knew how to swim.

Asif, an academy employee who was present at the site, informed Azam about the incident. Azam arrived at the scene and sought the help of swimmers Mohd. Fisal and Aslam to retrieve the bodies of Ashu Singh, Mohd. Saif, and Hercules. However, it was too late and all three had already drowned.

A case has been registered under section 174, and the police are investigating the incident. “We will be conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the incident and whether any safety measures were overlooked,” said the police.
