24X7 COVID-19 help desk set up at King Koti Hospital to assist patients, visitors

The help desk has a dedicated number - 9490616536. The Hyderabad commissioner of police, Anjani Kumar, inaugurated the help desk.
The help desk is set up to assist visitors, patients, and their attendants who visit the district hospital, King Koti, which is a designated COVID-19 hospital. It will inform visitors about the availability of beds, oxygen and ventilator beds, and ICU beds. It will also maintain the discharge and admission lists on a daily basis. It will coordinate with the GHMC officials in shifting the unclaimed as well as claimed dead bodies to the crematorium in liaison with blood relatives of the deceased without any delay.
The help desk will aid in streamlining the operations and information flow to the visitors and patients to the King Koti Hospital and eliminate confusion and information vacuum. It will act as a facilitator and also guide the visitors about the nearby diagnostic centers, private ambulance services, and other related information and eliminate the scope for malpractices and exploitation. It will liaise with blood donors and plasma donors in case of requirement. The visitors will be guided to vaccination and test centers, OP ward, and the dialysis unit.
The desk will also offer free mobile phone facility to attendants of patients and bonafide visitors. With the help of paramedical staff, the help desk will try to clear their doubts about coronavirus and its treatment in consultation with the doctors. The desk will liaise with health workers and officials of electricity, revenue, and sanitation departments.
