Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police apprehended three persons for allegedly selling fake and tampered Fastrack watches illegally posing them as originals.
The police seized as many as 6,037 watches worth Rs 1 crore from the possession of the accused. The arrested were identified as Lalan Yadav, Gautam Sav and Kailash Sav. All of them are residents of Hyderabad and natives of Bihar.
Case details
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Ande Srinivasa Rao said that the accused did not complete their studies due to a lack of interest. They migrated to Hyderabad and started selling phone covers and artificial jewellery, googles etc in the limits of Charminar and Begum Bazar.
The accusedās income was insufficient. They devised a scheme to engage in unlawful activities. Meanwhile, they were contacted by people in Rajkot and Mumbai who were illegally selling tampered and counterfeit Fastrack watches. Later, they procured different brands of watches and started selling them as originals at Charminar, Begum Bazar and to retail shops.
Based on the information, the commissionerās Task force, South West Zone team with the help of Hussaini Alam and Mangalhat Police conducted raids and apprehended above accused persons and seized 6,037 fake Fastrack watches from their instance. The above apprehended accused persons and seized material handed over to Mangalhat Police station and Hussaini Alam Police station for further investigation, the ADCP said.
