30 men tried to attack me near RTC Hospital: Secunderabad Cantonment MLA Sriganesh

Hyderabad: Secunderabad Cantonment MLA N Sriganesh has claimed that he narrowly escaped an attack by nearly 30 unidentified persons who allegedly intercepted his convoy near RTC Hospital in Tarnaka.

This incident happened on Sunday night, and police have begun verifying his complaint.

Convoy intercepted, vehicle banged

According to Sriganesh, the incident took place while he was travelling to participate in Bonalu festivities. He alleged that a group of people approached his vehicle from both sides and signalled him to stop. When his driver refused to halt, the group allegedly started banging on his car.

Attempt to snatch gunman’s weapon

The MLA further claimed that when his gunman tried to intervene, the assailants attempted to snatch his weapon. “Sensing danger, I immediately directed my driver to head straight to the Osmania University police station,” he said. Sriganesh escaped unharmed and lodged a formal complaint.

Police begin verification

East Zone police officials said they are in the process of registering a case and are examining CCTV footage from the area to establish the sequence of events and ascertain whether there was any criminal intent.
