36-hour water supply disruption in several parts of Hyderabad from Saturday

Hyderabad: Residents in several parts of Hyderabad will face a disruption in drinking water supply for 36 hours from Saturday morning due to major repair and maintenance works being taken up on the Krishna Phase-I water supply system.

The interruption will begin at 6 am on December 27 (Saturday) and continue until 6 pm on December 28 (Sunday), officials said in a press release issued on Thursday.

Major repair works planned

The disruption is necessitated due to multiple critical maintenance works, including:

- Repair of a leakage in a 700 mm diameter MS pipeline near the surge tank of Krishna Phase-I.

- Replacement of damaged MS air tees and valves on the 2,200 mm diameter MS pumping main between Narsarlapally and Godakondla.

- Execution of 600 mm diameter MS junction works on the 2,200 mm pumping main at Narsarlapally.

- Replacement of damaged BF valves and NRVs on 600 mm pipelines at Kodandapur and Narsarlapally pumping stations.

Officials stated that these works are essential to ensure the long-term stability and efficiency of the city’s water supply network.

Which areas will be affected by the water supply disruption?

The following localities and reservoirs will experience water supply disruption during the repair period:

1. O&M Division–I

Meeralam, Kishanbagh, Balshetty Katta, Moghalpura, Falaknuma, Bahadurpura, Jahanuma

2. O&M Division–II

Mahabub Mansion, Santosh Nagar, Vinay Nagar, Saidabad, Chanchalguda, Asmangadh, Yakutpura

3. O&M Division–IV

Bogulakunta

4. O&M Division–V

Narayanguda, Adikmet Reservoir, Shivam Reservoir, Chilkalguda Reservoir

5. O&M Division–VIII

Aliabad Reservoir, Riyasat Nagar Reservoir

6. O&M Division–X

Parts of Dilsukhnagar

7. O&M Division–XVIII

Hardware Park, Jalpally, Tukkuguda, FAB City

8. O&M Division–XX

Manneguda

Supply to resume after the works

Water supply will be restored immediately after the completion of the maintenance works, officials assured.

Public advisory

Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to store sufficient water in advance and use water judiciously during the disruption period.
