5.16 acres, 50-storey tower: Raidurg’s ‘Unity Mall’ set to become Hyderabad's tallest shopping precinct
Hyderabad: From a modest six floors to a soaring 50-storey tower, ‘Unity Mall’ in Raidurg is set to become the tallest shopping precinct in Hyderabad.
The revised plan has received state approval and will be developed on 5.16 acres owned by the Telangana State Leather Industries Promotion Corporation (TGSLIPC).
Towering design
The new blueprint features five underground levels for parking and support facilities, six floors for exhibitions showcasing textiles, handlooms, and crafts, and 39 commercial floors. The structure will span 30 lakh sq. ft., transforming it into a retail-cum-commercial hub.
Rs 1,500 Cr investment
The Telangana Trade Promotion Corporation (TGTPC) will execute the project under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Estimated to cost Rs 1,500 crore, the mall will also draw on central funding; the Union government has sanctioned Rs 202 crore under the One District One Product scheme, with Rs 101 crore already released.
From modest plans to mega tower
Originally envisioned as a six-storey complex, the plan was revised after considering the high land value in the Gachibowli–Raidurg belt. The Centre has approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR), and the Airports Authority of India has issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the skyscraper.
Work in full swing
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy recently reviewed progress on the site. Officials reported that 90 percent of the excavation work, costing Rs 10.1 crore, has been completed. The CM has directed authorities to speed up construction and invite tenders at the earliest.
