Hyderabad: As many as 593 apartment/layout applications must be immediately processed, said Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TSSPDCL) Chairman and Managing Director, Musharraf Faruqui.
In a meeting with officials on Thursday to address the consumer grievances on new service connections, title transfers, solar net metering and the PM Surya Ghar plan, Faruqui asked for the streamlining of service provisions to prevent unnecessary delays.
Faruqui and team visit Old City on bikes
The TSSPDCL CMD and other officials made a field visit to the Old City on bikes so that the small lanes could be easily manoeuvred. Officials said that travelling on bikes helped them reach places with small lanes, and it was also helpful to reach every end-point consumer.
New policy of LTM services
A new policy has been introduced for charging new LTM services.
Instead of unscheduled power interruptions, which have disrupted power supply in the past, a dedicated line clearance schedule will now be implemented every Saturday, said officials.
Informing consumers in advance about power cuts
Officials are tasked with preparing these schedules in advance and informing affected consumers about the duration of power cuts.
This new approach not only ensures a more reliable power supply but also provides an opportunity for officials to perform essential maintenance tasks, such as trimming tree branches and repairing AB switches at DTRs during the scheduled clearance time.
Field visits by Faruqui on Tuesday and Thursday
Musharraf Faruqui has been conducting personal field visits twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, to areas with the highest number of complaints.
He has been inspecting the low-tension (LT) network and engages directly with local residents to gauge the company’s performance.
As part of this initiative, he was seen on Thursday visiting narrow lanes in Behroopia Basti and Golla Khidki Basti in the Old City, inspecting the electrical networks on a bike. Accompanying him were Dr Narasimhulu, the company’s Director of Operations and other senior officials.
