6-year-old rescued after getting stuck in apartment lift at Masab Tank
Hyderabad: A six-year-old boy was rescued after getting stuck in a lift in an apartment complex in Shantinagar at Masab Tank.
The incident occurred when the lift suddenly stopped midway, causing the boy to scream for help. Hearing the boyās cries, the apartment residents quickly alerted the police and Disaster Response Force (DRF) personnel.

After receiving information about the incident at 2.29 pm, the first team of DRF reached within 10 minutes. Later two more groups were added.
Residents stated that as soon as the lift with grill's door was opened, it slipped into the gap between the floor slab and the lift, slid down, and became stuck near the first floor.
Residents also said that the children were playing on the third floor of the four-story flat when they slipped in the lift. The electricity supply was disconnected before anyone could use the lift. The operation was initiated immediately by DRF teams.
The HYDRAA's DRF teams saved the youngster after cutting the slab with much difficulty in addition to using gas cutters and fire department equipment to cut the lift frame.
At around 4.35 am, the boy was taken out, handed over to his parents, and then immediately rushed to Niloufer Hospital for treatment.
DRF teams under the command of District Fire Officer A Yagnanarayana and Station Fire Officer P Dutt completed this operation.
Saifabad Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sanjay Kumar, who visited the scene, stated that a technical fault caused the lift to stop unexpectedly.
āDoctors are examining the boy to check for any injuries. As soon as we received the information, our inspector alerted the DRF and 108 emergency staff. We reached the scene and assisted in rescuing the boy,ā he added.
Niloufer Hospital Superintendent Dr Ravi Kumar said that as the boy's body was crushed against the wall and in the center of the lift. The organs and brain are also injured as a result of a shortage of oxygen to the body parts. A major surgery was performed. He also stated the boy's condition is serious and that they will be able to determine his health within 24 hours.
