Hyderabad: Seven students of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) were suspended for a semester for ragging. According to the officials, a few days ago, a group of juniors filed a complaint to the Anti-ragging Committee, Delhi, saying that some senior students of PJTSAU called them to their hostel room, and asked them to remove half their clothes and dance. The students also submitted videos.
According to the PJTSAU registrar, Dr. S. Sudheer Kumar, a complaint has been received by the principal of PJTSAU, Rajendranagar campus, regarding the ragging on the campus.
When the anti-ragging squad visited the campus and inquired, it found that around 20 students from second and third year Bsc (Hons) Agriculture have been involved in ragging. Seven students were suspended for a semester of 2022-23 and their hostel admissions were canceled. About 11 students who asked the juniors to write their records and made them do other work were temporarily suspended from the hostel.
