Hyderabad: A fire broke out at the Vindhya Organics Private Limited in the Industrial Development Area Bollaram in the outskirts of the city on 12 December.
The police have not confirmed any casualty but eight people have been injured in the accident and of these three are in critical conditions. The injured have been taken to a nearby hospital.
It is estimated that around 100 workers were in the factory at the time of the blast. "The fire broke out due to some chemical reaction. We are evacuating nearby industries as the blaze is yet to be brought under control," said the CI of IDA Bollaram police station.
As the fire spread, the workers ran out of the factory. Smoke, meanwhile, has engulfed the nearby area. Firefighters immediately rushed to the spot after receiving information about the fire.
The Patancheru fire department received a call around 1:20 p.m. The station fire officer said five fire tenders from Patancheru, Miyapur, and Kukattpally are at the site to control the fire. There may be people trapped inside the burning factory, he added.
