800 kg ganja worth Rs 2 cr seized in Hyderabad; 2 held
The ganja was being smuggled from Rajamundry in Andhra Pradesh to Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh via Hyderabad.

The ganja was being smuggled from Rajamundry in Andhra Pradesh via Hyderabad.
On the morning of 8 May, the SOT sleuths of the Shamshabad zone along with the Shamshabad police apprehended Kushi Mohammed and Sonu Singh. They seized 800 kg of ganja, a lorry, and two mobile phones from them ā all worth about Rs. 2 crore. Three others, Sikindher, Somu, and Bijender Singh, are absconding. Four of the gang members are from Uttar Pradesh except Somu who is from Odisha.
The gang has been running an illegal ganja smuggling racket, transporting the drug from the Odisha agency area to Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh via Hyderabad. Khushi Mohammed and Sonu Singh, who are from UP, used to drive ganja-laden vehicles with the assistance of the other three to various places.
About a week ago, Khushi contacted Sikhinder and offer to sell dry ganja. Accordingly, the latter contacted Sonu who arranged for a vehicle. Khushi then procured 800 kg of ganja. On 6 May, Khushi and Sonu started from Vijayawada for Rajamundry on a lorry loaded with cotton seed. After reaching Rajamundry, a person guided them to a remote place where 32 bags of ganja containing 64 packets (12.5 kg each) was loaded on the lorry. They left the agency area for the Bulandshahar district of Uttar Pradesh via Hyderabad.
On 8 May, the joint team of SOT Shamshabad zone and the Shamshabad police caught the two gang members along with the ganja-loaded lorry.
