Hyderabad: V. Krishna Reddy spent the entire night at Andhra Bank located in Jubilee Hills check-post here after the bank officials locked him inside on Monday. The 84-year-old diabetic and Alzheimer's patient was found by the Hyderabad police, sitting by the door, on Tuesday morning.

The old man had spent the entire night - almost 18 hours, in the closed locker room all alone without his necessary medication, food, or water. The room is located on the ground floor of the bank and has no electricity or even a single window.

Joel Davis, the deputy commissioner of police (DCP), west zone, confirmed that no case was booked against the bank. "Krishna Reddy was taken to a nearby hospital immediately. Thankfully, his sugar level and other parameters had not fluctuated. He is fine," he said.

"He was locked in the locker room at around 5 pm on Monday and the bank opened up a little after 10 am on Tuesday morning," he said.


The police began looking for Krishna Reddy after his son, Sandeep Reddy, reached out to the Jubilee Hills police station as his father had not come home for a long time. According to the FIR, Krishna Reddy had left home at 4:15 p.m. When he didn't return, Sandeep began searching for him everywhere but couldn't find him.

After checking CCTV footage, it was found that Krishna Prasad was last spotted at the Jubilee Hills check-post on Monday a few minutes after he left his house in the evening.

The Jubliee hills police is likely to book a case under section 336 of the Indian Penal Code (Action leading to endangered of human)

Investigation, revealed that Assistant manager had carelessly closed the bank, while the 84 year old was inside the locker room.
