Hyderabad: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested Deputy Director of Fisheries, Hyderabad, for accepting a bribe of Rs 40000.

Md Khadeer Ahmed, who is also having Additional Charge of Fisheries in Karimnagar district, had demanded a bribe from Pandiri Narsaiah "to process the file pertaining to the formation of Women Fisheries Co-operative Society in Bandapalli Village, and forward it to Commissioner of Fisheries, Hyderabad."

According to ACB officials, Md Khadeer Ahmed was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from the complainant.

Similarly, Kondikoppula Anjaiah, a senior assistant, was trapped at his office while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 to process the file.

"The accused officers performed duties dishonestly to obtain the undue advantage from the complaint," ACB said.
