ACB catches Lalaguda TGSPDCL engineer taking Rs 15,000 bribe
Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught Bhoomireddy Sudhakar Reddy, Sub-Engineer in charge of Assistant Engineer at TGSPDCL, Lalaguda Section, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.
Bribe was demanded for electrical work
The accused reportedly demanded the money from a complainant in exchange for official favours.
He promised to process the complainant’s file for upgrading from single-phase to three-phase meters and to prepare the estimation for erecting a 63 KVA transformer related to the complainant’s electrical contract work.
Public duty violated
By soliciting the bribe, the officer performed his public duties improperly and dishonestly. The amount was recovered at his instance, confirming the wrongdoing.
Bhoomireddy Sudhakar Reddy has been arrested by the ACB City Range Unit-2 and sent to judicial remand. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
