Telangana: Police have booked Congress Nampally MLA candidate Feroz Khan for allegedly offering Rs 1 lakh to a voter.

According to the sources, the incident happened on Tuesday night when a voter, who is said to be a BJP supporter, was caught with Rs 1 lakh.

Speaking to NewsMeter, Feroz Khan said: "A BJP supporter named Ramesh last night came to meet me. he said he was my fan. He shook hands and said he wanted me to win Nampally seat. He also said he wanted to see Modi at the Centre."

Soon after, DCP Venkateswarlu, who was outside, recovered Rs 1 lakh from the person.


"The DCP came inside my house and said that this money was given by me. The person who came to meet me is not my employee.," said Feroz Khan.

When the police spoke to Ramesh, he said he was a financer and the money was his own.

A case has been registered under sections 171C, 188, and 123 RP Act.

Mohammed Feroz Khan is known in his constituency as the ‘man who walks into his office even after losing an election the very next morning'. Congress is banking on the experience of Feroz Khan, who contested three consecutive times against the AIMIM in Nampally.
