Hyderabad: Senior All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader and party General Secretary Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri passed away on Tuesday evening following a prolonged illness.

Veteran leader of AIMIM

A four-time Member of the Legislative Assembly, Quadri was one of the most trusted and long-serving leaders of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.

He worked closely with three generations of the Owaisi family and played a key role in strengthening the party’s organisational structure at the grassroots level.

Political Journey

Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri began his political career in 1986 as a Corporator in the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad, representing the Dabeerpura ward. His rise in politics was marked by consistent electoral success and strong connect with the people.

He was elected as an MLA from the Charminar Assembly Constituency in 2004, 2009 and 2014. In 2018, he won from the Yakutpura Assembly Constituency, becoming a four-time legislator.

Role in Party Organisation

As the long-standing General Secretary of AIMIM, Quadri was known for his organisational discipline, unwavering loyalty to the party, and ability to mobilise cadres. Party leaders and workers widely regarded him as a bridge between leadership and grassroots workers.

Personal Life

Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri is survived by his son and two daughters. His passing marks the end of an era for AIMIM, with leaders across the political spectrum expressing condolences and recalling his decades-long contribution to public life.
