All eyes on Telangana as PM Modi’s tour of state draws closer
BJP’s star campaigner PM Modi will be holding a gathering at the ITI Ground in Mahabubnagar on October 1, which will kickstart the election campaign for the BJP in the state.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 30 Sep 2023 3:16 AM GMTHyderabad: Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari instructed the officials to make foolproof arrangements in close coordination with line departments for the ensuing visit of prime minister Narendra Modi on October 3 to Nizamabad.
The chief secretary presided over a high-level meeting and took stock of the arrangements being made in connection with the high-profile visit. On the occasion, PM Modi will inaugurate the 800 MW Ramagundam NTPC Project virtually.
The chief secretary directed the police department to make adequate security arrangements as per the blue book. Similarly, the fire, health, electricity, R&B and other departments were also instructed to make elaborate arrangements. The collector and SP of Nizamabad were told to work in close coordination for the public meeting which will be held at Giriraj College in Nizamabad.
DGP Anjani Kumar, Energy special chief secretary Sunil Sharma, additional DG Swati Lakra, GAD secretary Sheshadri, Roads and Buildings secretary Srinivasa Raju, Medical & Health secretary Rizvi, DG Fire Services Nagi Reddy, I&PR special commissioner Ashok Reddy, Police, NTPC, BSNL, Fire and Aviation Department officials attended the meeting.
As part of the announcement made by the party earlier, the BJP’s star campaigner PM Modi will be holding a gathering at the ITI Ground in Mahabubnagar on October 1, which will kickstart the election campaign for the BJP in the state.
Speaking to NewsMeter, a BJP senior leader had said, “There are likely to be nine public meetings in total in Telangana; prime minister Modi will hold three, Union home minister Amit Shah will hold 3, and BJP president JP Nadda the rest. Locations like Nizamabad, Khammam, and Nalgonda are zeroed down. Meanwhile, the filtering process of candidates is completed, and the first list will be announced after this meeting.”
The burden lies on BJP state president and MP G Kishan Reddy and the remaining legislators and parliamentarians to show their strength by drawing a huge cadre to the first public meeting. The saffron party has so far received 6,300 applications for MLA tickets and has completed its screening of candidates. The party is likely to announce its first list of names in October.
