All you want to know about WWE Superstar Spectacle in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Hyderabad will feel the adrenaline of world-class wrestling for the first time when the WWE Superstar Spectacle will be held at GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli on September 8.

The live event also marks WWE's return to Indian soil after nearly seven years.

On Sunday, Dr. V Srinivas Goud, Minister of Sports and Youth Services, together with Principal Secretary YAT&C Department Shailaja Ramaiyer and Chairman of Telangana State Sports Authority Dr. Anjaneya Goud, launched the event poster.

The tournament, which is only being conducted in the country for the second time, will include 28 internationally famous WWE stars.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth 'Freakin' Rollins, Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley, WWE Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens headline the exciting roster. Other fan favorites attending the competition include Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Matt Riddle, Ludwig Kaiser, and others.

WWE intended to visit India in January 2023, however, the corporation postponed the trip for unclear reasons. WWE CEO Nick Khan promised a return to South Asia for the company's large Indian audience in May 2023.

WWE's return to India after a long absence would be monumental for Indian fans. WWE has long desired the Indian market, with Jinder Mahal's WWE Championship reign being a move to push a wrestler with India in mind. The last time the firm visited India was in December 2017, barely one month after Mahal's rule ended. In the main event of the evening, Mahal faced up against Triple H. The Shield, Triple H, The New Day, Natalya, and many more celebrities appeared on the show.

Public Reactions

The announcement of WWE coming back to India has sent fans into a frenzy. People not only from Hyderabad but all over the country are ecstatic to see their favorites fight it out in the ring.

“This is such a huge moment for Hyderabad. Just the thought of thinking about watching WWE live, in person is giving me an adrenaline rush. The excitement is very much real” said WWE fanatic Vikram Karnwal.

“The minute I heard that WWE was coming to India I rounded up all my friends and made plans to go see our favorite champions. It is going to be such a core memory, from watching matches every night on the television to seeing the champions in real life” said excited fan, Pratham Singh.
