On March 20, 2018, the Telangana government issued an order to regulate parking fees in all commercial establishments.
According to the rules, for parking up to 30 minutes, no fee should be collected. For parking up to an hour, fees can and cannot be charged. It depends on whether the customer produces a bill of shopping done at the commercial establishment during this period.
For a parking duration of more than one hour, the service can be free if the customer produces a bill or a movie ticket.
Further, the parking ticket should be handed over to the customer even if the fee is not applicable. If the fee has been collected, a 'paid' stamp should be marked. And if not, 'exempted' should be stamped and handed over to the customer duly with the signature of in-charge.
