Hyderabad: In view of the very heavy rain warning in Telangana, the government has decided to close Ananthagiri Hills, a popular tourist destination in Vikarabad, for the upcoming weekend.
Authorities have advised people to drop their travel plans to Ananthagiri Hills from August 14 to 17. Often referred to as the āOoty of Telangana,ā Ananthagiri Hills is a scenic spot surrounded by dense forests, celebrated for its natural beauty and pleasant climate. It attracts tourists for activities like trekking, kayaking and other adventure experiences.
Boating and trekking closed
Speaking to the media, Vikarabad Collector Prateek Jain said, āBoating and trekking in Ananthagiri Hills will remain closed to the public this weekend due to the heavy rain forecast. No public will be allowed to Ananthagiri Hills for tourism. We also urge people not to step out of their homes unless absolutely necessary.ā

On August 13, Pargi mandal in the district recorded the second-highest rainfall in Telangana.
