The accused Mothe Ashok belongs to Nuzvid of Krishna district. He discontinued his B Tech in his final year due to his bad vices. He came across the news of a male person who got cheated on Facebook under the pretext of marriage. The accused in that case was also a male who was posing as a female on Facebook. Taking cue from the incident, Ashok hatched a plan to pretend as a girl on Facebook and cheat gullible male persons.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police arrested one accused person namely Mothe Ashok who cheated the complainant in the guise of marriage and lured the victim to deposit money in his bank account by citing various reasons. The accused extorted approximately Rs. 45 lakhs. The victim, a resident of Jubilee Hills, filed a complaint on 22 April 2022.

The accused Mothe Ashok belongs to Nuzvid of Krishna district. He discontinued his B Tech in his final year due to his bad vices. He came across the news of a male person who got cheated on Facebook under the pretext of marriage. The accused in that case was also a male who was posing as a female on Facebook. Taking cue from the incident, Ashok hatched a plan to pretend as a girl on Facebook and cheat gullible male persons.

In the month of February 2020 he created a fake Facebook account with the profile ID, 'Indhusha Tummala' and pretended like a girl and sent friend requests to unknown persons on Facebook randomly and began chatting with them.

In the same month, the complainant of this case accepted Ashok's friend request. From that time onwards, the accused- Ashok used to chat with the complainant as a girl (Indusha) and used to talk with him as a girl from his mobile phone using a voice changer App with which one can change his voice to a female voice.

By believing the accused, the victim deposited an amount of Rs. 45 lakhs in 2 years in Ashok's bank account. Later, the complainant found that he was being cheated and demanded his money back and went to the police.
