Asif Nagar cops arrest 28YO drunk man who climbed onto patrol car, damaged vehicle

Hyderabad: A 28-year-old inebriated man was arrested for causing damage to public property after he hopped onto a moving police patrol car at Jhirra in Asif Nagar on 14 June, screamed at the police, and damaged the car.

The police arrested Ajay Singh and booked a case under various sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.

According to Asif Nagar inspector N. Ravinder, a drunk Ajay climbed on top of a patrol car. "The officers in the vehicle were moving slowly and asking those who had stopped or parked on the road to move so as to avoid traffic congestion when the incident occurred," he said.

Ajay damaged the windshield and side mirrors of the police car.

According to the police, Ajay also damaged some private vehicles in the area before the patrol car arrived.

"He was under the influence of alcohol. He also tried to attack some officers but we arrested him," Mr. Ravinder said.
