But there are Telugu films that showcased not only the dialect but also the culture and traditions of people from a particular region in the most authentic way.
Here is the list of a few Telugu films which authentically featured the Telangana people and their rich cultural moorings.
Dasara:
Featuring Natural Star Nani and Keerthi Suresh in the lead roles, this upcoming mass action drama is the story of people who work in the coal mines of Godavarikhani in Telangana. Nani has been claiming that they have not only showcased Telangana slang but also the people of Godavarikhani in the raw and rustic way possible.
Balagam:
This recently released film featuring Priyadarshi in the lead role scored big at the box office. The audience has been praising the film for its beautiful climax. The movie also runs with a village backdrop and beautifully portrayed all the characters.
Fidaa:
Featuring Sai Pallavi and Varun Tej in the lead roles, Fidaa is directed by Shekhar Kammula. The romantic comedy entertainer has all the characters speaking in the Telangana dialect. The film showcased Telangana customs, culture, and weddings.
Rudramadevi:
The film is touted to be the biopic on a warrior-queen from the Kakatiya dynasty (Present day Warangal), Rudramadevi. Anushka has impressed with her flawless performance. Allu Arjun played the role of Gona Ganna Reddy, a soldier of Telangana who fought for Rani Rudrama Devi, and the actor also received so many accolades for his performance.
Rajanna:
Many people might not have watched this film starring Nagarjuna. But the movie which is set in post-independent India showcased authentic folklore.
Jathirathnalu:
Touted to be the first ever biggest hit after the first lockdown, 'Jathi Ratnalu' showcased the hilarious journey of three friends. The film featured Naveen Polishetty, Faria Abdullah, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna in the lead roles.
RRR - Komaram Bheem:
The Oscar-winning film has been creating new records ever since its release. The film also showcased NTR in the role of Komaram Bheem, a revolutionary leader from Telangana who stood against the Britishers during the pre-independence era.
