`Astro-Gopal': How self-styled astrologer posed as `love guru' to loot people in Hyderabad
A case under section 66 C, D ITA Act and 419, 420 IPC was registered and an investigation was set in motion.

Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have arrested a self-styled astrologer for cheating a woman on the pretext of solving her problems through `Love Astrology'.
On December 19, Hyderabad police received a complaint from a resident of Hyderabad stating that during the search on social media she came across Gopal Shastri with the Instagram handle `Astro-Gopal'
The victim contacted him over the phone. He initially charged her with Rs.32000. Later he started asking for money. He cheated her of Rs. 47,11,808 so far.
A case under section 66 C, D ITA Act and 419, 420 IPC was registered and an investigation was set in motion.
Identified as Lalit, the accused is a resident of Punjab, His father Gopal Shashtri was also an Astrologer.
Police said the accused started astrology online. He posted google ads and identified himself as a Love Astrologer "Gopal Shashtri". He created an Instagram profile `Astro-Gopal' in his father's name.
Police said when people contacted him for astrology, he used to cheat them on the pretext of offering prayers to resolve their issues through astrology.
