Attention passport applicants: Here is how you can advance your appointment slot at Secunderabad RPO

Passport applicants can now advance their slots based on urgency and availability after verifying the details. The counter for the advancement of slots will be available at Regional Passport Office(RPO), Secunderabad, on Monday and Thursday from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

The regional Passport Office (RPO) also has issued an advisory to passport applicants on the steps applicants must take when applying for a passport or a police clearance certificate (PCC).

According to the advice, passport applicants must click on the 'Apply for New Passport/Reissue of Passport' link to fill out the form and obtain the Application Reference Number (ARN).

Then, in the 'View saved/submitted applications' screen, customers must click on the 'Pay and Schedule Appointment' link to schedule an appointment.

"Payment of the required fee and scheduling an appointment is mandatory, without which processing of the application cannot be done in any PSK(Passport Seva Kendra) or POPSK(Post office Passport Seva Kendra)," read the advisory.

It was also stated that applicants must bring a printout or soft copy of the online appointment receipt.

Regarding the advisory on documents, RPO mentioned that self-attested photocopies of all the documents listed on the ARN sheet must be provided for the passport at PSK.

The advisory further read, "No need for attestation by Gazetted Officers or Notary on the photocopies of supporting documents."

The advisory stated that three of the thirteen shortlisted documents must be provided to obtain a passport through the Tatkal Scheme. At least one of the three must include the applicant's present address.

The RPO stated for a police clearance certificate, candidates must have a valid original passport.

Aside from that, they must carry a marriage certificate in case the spouse's name has changed. If the address on the valid passport has changed, they must additionally provide residential proof.
