Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police will launch a special drive against motorists without driving licences (DLs) from March 1, 2026.

Police advised all motorists to carry a valid DL while driving. Persons who do not have a driving licence are requested to approach the Road Transport Authority (RTA).

Police said it has been observed that the majority of road accidents involve drivers who do not have a valid DL.

Further, vehicle owners are warned not to permit their vehicles to be driven by persons who do not have a valid DL. Allowing an unlicensed person to drive is also an offence.

It is also important to note that if an accident occurs while a vehicle is being driven by a person without a valid Driving Licence, insurance cannot be claimed, resulting in serious financial and legal consequences.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police request the public to cooperate and strictly adhere to traffic rules in the interest of road safety.
