B-Hub will help TS consolidate its position in biopharma: KTR lays foundation for B-Hub
B-Hub is envisioned as the much-needed catalyst for the biopharma sector in Genome Valley, India’s first systematically developed R&D cluster located in Hyderabad.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 18 Oct 2022 12:30 PM GMTHyderabad: Telangana minister for industries and commerce K.T Rama Rao laid the foundation stone for Biopharma Hub (B-Hub), an initiative of the state government, Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC), and the department of biotechnology (DBT).
B-Hub will help small and medium-sized biopharma companies conduct proof-of-concept studies in its single-use scale-up facility and conduct research activities while attracting talent and fostering innovation.
B-Hub is envisioned as the much-needed catalyst for the biopharma sector in Genome Valley, India's first systematically developed R&D cluster located in Hyderabad.
"Telangana is striving to 'Lead by Example' and has thus far been at the forefront of innovation. We want to be valued at $100 billion by 2030 (up from $50 billion in 2020), and we have a comprehensive plan to get there. To further facilitate growth in this direction, we are establishing Biopharma Hub (B-hub), India's first growth-phase center and Biopharma scale-up manufacturing facility. B-Hub will help Telangana consolidate its leadership position in the biopharma space," said KTR.
B-Hub is equipped with a scale-up manufacturing facility as well as a GLP-grade turnkey incubator. Establishing an end-to-end biopharma scale-up manufacturing facility will provide domestic companies with the necessary impetus compared to Korea, China, and France, which have taken the lead in biopharma innovation. Companies that are aggressively pursuing the global biologics and biosimilars opportunity will benefit from a biopharma scale-up facility, which will allow them to leapfrog in their endeavors while reducing time to market.
