Bachupally MRO’s notices to two apartments not linked to HYDRAA: Commissioner Ranganath

Hyderabad: HYDRAA Commissioner A V Ranganath has clarified that the recent notices served by the Bachupally MRO are entirely unrelated to the HYDRA department.

The MRO reportedly served notices to two apartments that were situated in proximity to Medikunta Lake in Madhapur.

In a statement issued here, Ranganath emphasized that neither he nor any HYDRAA official had prior knowledge of the notices and stated that he had already spoken with the Medchal–Malkajgiri District Collector regarding the issue.

The HYDRAA Commissioner also said that he urged the Collector to seek clarification from the MRO about the reasons behind issuing such notices. Condemning MP Etela Rajender’s comments linking HYDRAA to the notices, he described them as both misleading and regrettable.

“Attributing every notice and demolition to HYDRAA only creates unnecessary fear and confusion among the public,” Ranganath said. He reaffirmed HYDRAA’s firm stance against large-scale land encroachments while also highlighting its commitment to protecting the rights of common citizens.

The HYDRAA Commissioner even criticized MP Etela’s attempts to falsely implicate HYDRAA, noting that the MP was already well-informed about the department's responsibilities, as clearly explained during a previous discussion at the Secretariat.

Ranganath further clarified that HYDRAA does not act against residential properties built before July 2024 and will not remove commercial structures that have secured the necessary permissions. “HYDRAA does not harass the poor or common people,” he reiterated.

Ranganath appealed to public representatives to refrain from making baseless allegations that mislead citizens—especially at a time when the public has a clear understanding of HYDRAA’s transparency and pro-people functioning.
