Bachupally six-lane corridor: Telangana to transfer 19 acres of forest land for project
Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy District In-charge Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has directed officials to expedite forest land acquisition to ensure the timely launch of major road infrastructure works in the district.
Review meeting at the Secretariat
Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat here, Sridhar Babu assessed the progress of two critical projects: the proposed six-lane corridor between Bachupally and Gandimaisamma, and the road connecting Bahadurpally through Dulapally to Kompally.
He instructed senior officials to complete all acquisition and transfer procedures on a war footing to facilitate groundbreaking ceremonies in the first week of September.
19 acres of forest land earmarked
Officials informed the Minister that 19 acres of forest land have been identified for transfer. The Minister directed that first-phase formalities for this handover must be concluded within the stipulated timeframe.
He stressed that while acquiring private land, authorities should adopt a humane approach and ensure that compensation funds are readily available for prompt disbursement to landowners.
Clearance updates
The Forest Department briefed that Stage-1 clearance for forest land diversion on the BahadurpallyāKompally road has already been secured, while the process for the BachupallyāGandimaisamma route is nearing completion.
Other priority works
Sridhar Babu also reviewed the progress of other essential works, including the Subhash Nagar pipeline and the St. Annās School access road, directing revenue and municipal officials to fast-track these projects.
Benefits to multiple constituencies
Highlighting the importance of these roads, the Minister said their completion will greatly improve connectivity across eight legislative constituencies, benefiting thousands of residents by enhancing regional access and easing traffic movement.
Chief Principal Conservator of Forests Suvarna, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed, and other officials were also present.
