Better service, polite conduct: TSRTC launches statewide programme to train conductors

Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) launched the TSRTC April Challenge for Training (TACT) to train conductors across the state to improve their conduct and ensure better services for passengers. The managing director of TSRTC, V.C. Sajjanar, has advised conductors to be polite and courteous with passengers at all times.

In a recent press release, Sajjanar emphasised that the conductors and drivers of TSRTC are the brand ambassadors of the organisation and their conduct directly affects the credibility of the TSRTC. He warned that small mistakes could damage TSRTC’s reputation and urged the conductors to perform their duties carefully.

“We have to work as a passenger centre. Do not misbehave with passengers under any circumstances. When you get on the bus, greet them with a smile. New travellers should be treated with respect towards our company. Duties should be performed keeping in mind that there are many alternatives for passengers. You should have self-discipline in the performance of your duties,” said Sajjanar.

The training programme began on Friday at depots across Telangana. Sajjanar observed the training virtually from Hyderabad Bus Bhavan and received positive feedback from the participating conductors. The MD highlighted that the training is an effort to bring out the skills of the staff and to increase TSRTC’s occupancy ratio from 69 to 75.

“People are encouraging the public transport system in the state. Currently, the OR is 69. The company aims to increase it to 75. As part of that, we are training each and every staff in the organisation under the name TACT. Everyone should work according to that goal,” said Sajjanar.

Recently, around 6,000 drivers in Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, and Secunderabad regions received TACT training. Sajjanar aims to train all the staff in the organisation within the next three months.

The conductors who participated in the TACT training found it very useful and promised to work hard to increase the OR to 75. They acknowledged that the company’s success depends on its passengers and promised to treat them with respect.

The chief operating officer (CVO), Dr. Ravinder; executive director (operations) Munishekhar; CPM Krishnakanth, OSD (IT&D) Yugandhar; CTM (M&C) Vijay Kumar, and others participated in the training programme.
