Bharat Jodo Yatra: Former Maha minister injured at Necklace Road meeting

Dr Raut was co-ordinating the event when the Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge entered Necklace Road.
During that time there was a commotion and Dr Raut fell on the barricade erected near the stage.
Advocate Nikhil Kamble who is with him at Vasavi Hospital in Hyderabad explained, "He tried to protect his head from injury and put his hands on the head. The railing hit his right eye-brow and there is a deep cut. There are also scratches on his feet and hands. He has not registered any complaint and believes that the yatra must carry on peacefully."
Rahul Gandhi called up Raut to inquire about the injury and wished him a speedy recovery.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, General Secretary, K C Venugopal also called up to inquire about his health and wished him a speedy recovery. Telangana Congress SC Department chairman Preetham Nagarigari and Nizam rushed Raut to Vasavi hospital in Hyderabad.
The senior AICC leaders K. Raju, Rajesh Lilothia, LOP Telangana- Bhatti Vikramarka, Imran Pratapgadhi, AICC Secretary Dr. Vineet Punia, Siravela Prasad, Kanhaiya Kumar, and MRCC Vice President Sharif Khan went to the hospital to see Dr. Nitin Raut.
Raut is a part of the cordination committee
Raut has been co-ordinating the yatra from Kanyakumari and has worked with the committee in terms of national yatri's, local yatri's, food arrangements and other logistics. He participated in the event of Necklace Road as it was an important meeting. He was co-ordinating with senior leaders at the ground level and while approaching the stage, this incident occurred. He has been discharged from the hospital but has to take a break from the yatra for seven days, according to to advise of doctors.
