Bhupalpally SI takes part in birthday party of murder accused

Hyderabad: In a bizarre incident, the sub-inspector of Mogullapally police station in Jaishankar Bhupalpally hosted the birthday party of rowdy-sheeter murder-accused Mahender Goud.

A video in this regard went viral on social media platforms with eight police personnel in attendance, including SI T Venu Madhav Goud. Mahender Goud’s birthday party was organised at the Mogullapally police station on March 3. Mahender Goud was accused in several murder cases and a history sheet was opened against him with his photograph placed on the notice board.

In response, Bhupalpally's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), A Sampath Rao, stated that Venu Madhav Goud was contacted by about eight persons posing as reporters asking for permission to celebrate Mahender Goud’s birthday. They also said that Mahender had a lot of admiration for the sub-inspector.

The DSP further said that Venu Madhav Goud had recently been assigned to the station. The sub-inspector joined in the party without knowing Mahender's past.

As part of disciplinary action, a memo requesting an explanation for this extremely unusual and contentious event will be sent to the SI,” he said.
