BJP MLA Raja Singh booked for his provocative remarks during Ram Navami rally

Hyderabad: A case has been booked against Bhartiya Janta Party Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh at Shahinayathgunj and Sultan Bazar police stations for making provocative statements during the Ram Navami rally.

At the Shahinayathgunj police station, the BJP leader was booked under sections 153A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence), 295 A (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), 504 (intentionally insults, and thereby gives provocation to any person, intending or knowing it to be likely that such provocation will cause him to break the public peace), and 505 (Statements conducing to public mischief) of the IPC.

At Sultan Bazar, a case was filed against the MLA after sub-inspector G. Madhusudhan of Sultan Bazar police station filed a complaint stating that the MLA and his followers had created a nuisance during the rally. Mr. Madhusudhan and other police personnel were on duty at Putlibowli when the procession reached the Putlibowli crossroad around 10 p.m. "We found T. Raja Singh and his followers, on a Tusker vehicle, creating a nuisance by playing music and obstructing traffic, causing inconvenience to the general public," the FIR read. It further said the MLA had violated the condition of the permission issued by the additional commissioner of police, law & order.

The FIR also added that at around 11 p.m Raja Singh addressed the huge public gathering at Hanuman Vyamashala ground, disturbing public peace. A case under section 188 of the IPC and section 21/7 of the CP Act has been filed against him.

On the occasion of Ram Navmi, the Goshamahal MLA had made provocative and abusive statements against a certain community during the rally.
